- Thanks for the link. It's great that Okuma is starting to publish information about it's controls publicly. We have a Genos lathe that is great, but it's still difficult finding good, detailed, real-world information about programming. IMO, the manuals leave a bit to be desired, but we get along.

OSP Virus Protection System

Okuma Lathe Osp Programming Manual Software
The OSP-VPS embeds a virus scanning application programming interface in the control to prevent infection by viruses from networks or USB flash drives. This is indispensable for users who exchange data at risk of viral infection and users who can use only trusted devices.
Reliability: Prior to distribution of pattern file and search engine updates, operations are verified in advance by Okuma to prevent CNC software detection errors.
Maintainability: The system issues an alarm when a virus is detected and corrective actions can be checked on the display.

Safety: Scheduled virus scans are performed after completion of automatic and MDI operations to prevent slowing of screen responses.
